Dr. Cory Toth

 

Dr. Toth grew up in Saskatchewan where he spent the first 32 years of his life. After completing a BSc Honours in Physics and Mathematics, he then went on to both Medical School and Neurology Residency in Saskatoon at the University of Saskatchewan.  In 2002, he was certified for EEG.

 

After completing the Neurology Residency, he moved to the University of Calgary for a three year fellowship in Neuromuscular Diseases. During this time, he also completed certification for EMG. In 2005, he joined the University of Calgary medical faculty as an Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor. During his time in Calgary, Dr. Toth ran the Neuropathic Pain Clinic and was the Research Director for the Calgary Chronic Pain Centre. He is the only Neurologist to receive the Gold Star / Letter of Excellence Teaching Award for 12 consecutive years.

 

In August 2014, Dr. Toth moved to Burnaby, BC and continues to strive to provide the best care for patients with neurological disorders.

 

Dr. Toth's Clinical Skills include:

  • Assessment and Management of all General Neurology conditions

  • ​Electromyography (EMG) for conditions including:

    • ​All complex nerve and muscle diseases

    • Nerve entrapments such as carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar neuropathy

    • Radiculopathies or spinal nerve root compression disorders

  • Autonomic Assessments

  • Tilt Table Testing

  • Electroencephalography

  • Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injections for headaches, spasticity, and movement disorders

  • Injections for Occipital Neuralgia

  • Injections for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other nerve entrapments
